This project was tied to the greenhouse project above. The greenhouses are closed to the outside elements to maintain the heat, but the plants must be watered daily. Even in communities with reliable water systems, the water must still be carried out to the greenhouses. Seeds of Help Foundation began building simple below-ground water storage tanks that do not keep the water clean enough for human consumption but is great for irrigation. These tanks fill up with rain water and are built next to the greenhouses. These water catches make irrigating the greenhouses simple enough that the children can and often do handle the watering.
