Seeds of Help | Latrines

Since few communities have running water, many people haven’t even seen indoor bathroom facilities. The kids and adults use the fields for all their bathroom needs. We have experimented with a style of composting latrine that allows all the waste to be contained and later processed into natural fertilizer. This project has far reaching benefits in that during the rainy season, the waste that used to wash into the streams and then enter the water system is now contained and processed. This has far reaching effects in reducing the occurrences of cholera and parasites in the larger cities that are located downstream.
